31 Prince Street Rochester, NY 14607

In Dialogue is a series in which we invite practicing filmmakers to show their work alongside films from the VSW Collection, creating a dialogue among works that resonates with and reflects upon the approach of the filmmaker. This program features animated films by Baltimore-based filmmaker Karen Yasinsky, who uses hand-made puppets, rotoscoped animation and re-purposed footage to address themes of empathy, violence, spiritual grace and redemption in her films. Yasinsky has selected films from the VSW collection that reflect an oneiric approach to both subject and the practice of animation. Artist in attendance.

The VSW Film Series is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature, and by the ArtWorks program of the National Endowment for the Arts.
