Michael Rosenstein is a Boston-based improviser that works with building and modifying sound-gathering devices, amplified surfaces, salvaged instruments, simple oscillators and field recordings. He develops these raw sonic sources, transforming, distressing and combining them, and feeding off of the unstable sonic results.

Michael has collaborated with Jesse Collins, Howard Martin, Steve Norton, Angela Sawyer and Vic Rawlings. He has been writing about improvised music for years via sites like Dusted and Point of Departure, as well as contributions to Paris Transatlantic, Cadence Magazine and Signal to Noise Magazine. He is also a dedicated organizer of improvised and experimental music in Boston, working for Non-Event, booking at Washington Street Gallery and producing the Variations Music series at Bromfield Gallery.

Michael will be performing a duo with Martin Freeman.

ALSO coming out from Buffalo is legendary breather Steve Baczkowski who will be doing a rare out-of-town solo performance.
